Gathering Of Creations Market

On October 28, 2023, Giiwe (formally Giiwe Media) held it’s first market event at the Riverbank Discovery Center in Brandon, Manitoba. The Gathering of Creations Market was created to support local Indigenous artisans and storytellers.

The market hosted 10 artisans from different Indigenous backgrounds. All artisans brought their unique handmade products to the community of Brandon. The event was a success in more ways than just attendance. Many came to support artisans by purchasing their products and learning the stories behind their creations. This is an important step in bridging communities and facilitating dialogue between individuals.

This is only the start of the Gathering of Creations Market event. Giiwe has plans to bring the market to other locations in Southwestern Manitoba. This event will continue to grow, and will one day expand across the country of Canada.
